is that a left hand side bike lane on a one-way street? is the bike lane one-way as well?
anyway, i'm not a real big fan of bike lanes.
Yep, it's a left side lane on a one way street. It's not on the right side because of the bus stop - I guess. I'm not a big fan either, but I find some drivers expect a rider to use one if it's there.
(To which I answer - too bad!)
Bike lanes are great!
They increase bicycle ridership and make the roads safer for everyone. What's not to like?
I would agree that some bike lanes can help with both safety and the feeling of safety. I use them often. However, lanes on the left side make me nervous because drivers (especially those turning onto the road from a sideroad or alley) don't expect bikes to be there.
